GCFScape v1.1.2 Beta - NemPosted: Jun 22nd, 2004 - 11:10:10 am

Deja vu? A few days ago Valve updated Steam's GCF file format. They removed the data from one section of the GCF file and consequently caused GCFScape to operate incorrectly. Yesterday they did it all again only this time they removed the header from the above section.

To fix this I've uploaded yet another version of GCFScape. You can download the new GCFScape here and view the revisions here.

Ok it is work ! sorry :)

I reboot my computer, download for the 3 times .NET, and it is ok for all the GCF execpt :

Half Life localised.gcf 65 536Ko

who freeze GCFScape...

I'm not sure if Steam uses the Hal-Life Localized GCF file anymore. (I recently installed Steam and I no longer have that GCF file where I did before.) One thing is for sure, 65,536 KB is a very suspicious file size because it is exactly 2^16. Why don't you try coping it somewhere then restarting Steam to see what happens.

it seems, that valve had changed the format another time!sad
if i want to open the platform.gcf, scape freezes.
please, could you upload a compatible version for the new format? i know, its a hard work and you have other things todo... exhausted

GCFScape only supports Half-Life 1 .bsp files, nothing else.
