Object Viewer Update Part 1 - NemPosted: Dec 14th, 2005 - 6:25:58 pm

Working hard on my Source object viewer, I added displacement map support for .vmf files today. Not really a huge feat, but it looks cool so I thought I'd post a screen shot summary. Currently the view supports .bsp, .vmf, .mdl, .map, .rmf and .gl files.

Edit: I've added better .vtf support (the program now respects the various embedded flags and mipmaps) along with basic .vmt support (blending and multitexturing) and several new render modes. New screen shots have been included below.

Have you got lightmapping working properly on displacement surfaces? That part of the SDK source is astoundingly opaque, and I never did manage to understand how it worked.

I haven't tried adding displacement map support to the .bsp code yet, I'll let you know. To be honest, up until the lightmapping I was just going off your site. I haven't found the SDK to be much help in any of my work yet, too little comments.
