Jed of wunderboy.org has released a new version of his Half-Life Model Viewer. Amongst other new features it now supports various Half-Life package formats including GCF and PAK files through HLLib.

Hey, that is pretty cool!

Ya know it's good when other people use it :D

Now if Valve would just incorperate HLLIB in to VHE, we'd be all set!

I guess then we'd need it in Zoners too, at least that is something the community can change...

To be honest I wish Valve would have released Hammer's source code, you'd see a far better version of it now if they had. That said I was very disappointed when I learnt Valve planned to modify Hammer for HL2. In my opinion it is already a very poor level editor. Other level editors such as QuArK are just plain slow, and most of them Quake based. A new level editor designed specifically for HL2 is what we need.

BTW, for those mappers out there, HLMV can be a very useful tool for searching GCF files for level models.

i prefer GTKRadiant to VH, cant stand the interface of VH, GTKR looks like what a map editor should look like
